As a former US diplomat (Minister-Counselor rank), I have vast, “real world” experience across the globe as a leader, mentor, coach, and problem-solver .

I’’m a subject matter expert (SME) in the areas of strategic power competition, information operations (IO), irregular warfare (IW), narrative warfare, influence tradecraft, and emerging technologies,

I’m currently a Non-Resident Fellow with the Irregular Warfare Initiative’s Europe Program and a Senior Diplomacy Fellow with Narrative-Strategies. I’m also with the US Department of War’s Irregular Warfare Center as Editor-in-Chief of PRISM: The Journal of Complex Operations, Senior Practitioner, and Curriculum Developer. Additionally, I serve as a guest speaker and lecturer at US and international universities, the US State Department, and US professional military eduction (PME) institutions. I’ve also spoken on the Global and National Security Institute (GNSI) At the Boundary, Information Professionals Association (IPA) Cognitive Crucible, and the US Naval War College’s Center on Irregular Warfare and Armed Groups’ The Trident podcasts regarding Russia’s IW activities in Syria and Ukraine.

I have a PhD in War & Defense Studies from King’s College London and Master’s degrees from the National War College and American University. My book on Russia’s IW activities in Syria and Ukraine is available from Bloomsbury, Amazon, Waterstones, etc.

I’m a member of the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA), Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs (BCFA), IPA, and Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA). Additionally, I’m a member of the international advisory board of the Swiss-based Ukraine Foundation.
